On Air Personality / Promotions Director

The House FM has an opening for an On Air Personality with additional Promotions responsibilities at the non-profit organization’s new studio in Oklahoma City (Edmond), Oklahoma.  Do you want a chance to shine and impact thousands with the hope of Jesus?  The House could be your new home.  The on-air shift will be determined between midday and afternoon drive based on experience and current on-air needs.  The House FM is “Faith, Family, Fun” and is looking for another team member to communicate these values to a wide audience in Oklahoma, Southern Kansas and our Internet ministry.  Promotions responsibilities would include assisting with scheduling and fulfilling appearances and being a “face” for The House in the Oklahoma City Metro.

This is a full-time position, ideal for:

  • Entry to mid-level professionals desiring a full-time position with radio experience

Responsibilities: 

  • Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, perform radio announcing, program hosting, and, when necessary, radio control board operations/production, delivering quality content to radio listeners in the afternoons. 
  • Establish and maintain a listener-focused mission of creating a daily show that reaches out to listeners as a trusted voice and friend, helping them take the next step in their walk with Christ.
  • Serve as the primary personality for a House FM daily shift (with the option for an additionally assigned weekend shift), handling all primary radio host roles
  • Provide extensive daily show preparation, using the filter of Faith, Family and Fun and being all-in for station promotions on-air
  • Maintain a vibrant, personal social media presence that reinforces content delivered on the air
  • Represents the station in handling feedback, suggestions, and complaints from listeners
  • Provide voice-overs for production efforts as assigned
  • As directed, write and creatively produce stewardship, fundraising, promotional and other announcements and production material that communicates the mission and vision of the network
  • Follow the established content policies of The House FM & The House of Praise
  • Regularly receive feedback and coaching from station leadership and other industry professionals, resulting in stronger on-air connection with listeners
  • Arrange station presence at concerts and events.
  • Maintain the appearance and content of the website and mobile app.  Including, but not limited to: landing pages, graphics,and staff page. 
  • Effectively communicate with the Promotions staff, job expectations and station standards.
  • Plan and execute station promotions.
  • Learn and follow FCC rules and regulations for on-air and web based contests/promotions.
  • Delegate work duties to Promotions Staff to attain objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed calendars of upcoming appearances, contests/promotions, and concerts
  • Work with Relations Coordinator for station prizes and sponsors.
  • Manage the Promotional and prize inventory. Including, but not limited to, banners, promo cards, and window stickers.
  • Oversee the bulk email base and text alerts. 
  • Oversee coordination of the Mobile Billboards.
  • Oversee coordination of prize drawings.
  • Oversee coordination of the volunteer base.
  • Oversee coordination of a quarterly inventory of promotional items and prizes.
  • Oversee the process of making sure we are ready for each promotional event.  i.e. packing of supplies.
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned upon discussion

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills
  • Must have solid production skills and a strong working knowledge of studio audio equipment for both live and tracked on-air shifts. 
  • Knowledge of the format and audience required
  • Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
  • Able to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
  • At least one year of experience is preferred not required. 
  • A minimum of an Associates Degree is required (work experience might substitute for the degree).

Chief Engineer

The House FM and The House of Praise have an opening for a Radio Chief Engineer at the non-profit organization’s headquarters in Oklahoma. The radio ministry is looking for a detail-oriented, organized multi-tasker who has the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. This is a full-time position, ideal for: 

  • Professionals desiring a full-time position

Responsibilities: 

  • Overseeing the maintenance and operation of all broadcast-related equipment, and keeping such equipment operational and compliant with FCC rules and regulations at all times.  
  • The Chief Engineer will act as the Chief Operator of all 20 transmitters, and will rotate being on-call for “Emergency” technical situations.  
  • The Chief Engineer will also supervise two part-time assistant engineers. 
  • He/She will coordinate all installation and maintenance of radio broadcast equipment, towers, fences, buildings, and generators, along with other duties as assigned.  
  • Solid working knowledge of broadcast consoles and automated on-air operating systems, such as Zetta, is required. I.T. and networking skills required as well.  

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • At least five years of broadcast-engineering experience is required.  
  • A minimum of an Associate’s Degree is required (work experience might substitute for the degree).

Oklahoma City Metro Outreach  

The House FM and The House of Praise have a full-time Oklahoma City Metro Outreach team member position open at the non-profit organization in Edmond, Oklahoma. The position will assist and work with the Promotions Department for The House FM and The House of Praise. 

This is a full-time position, ideal for:

  • Marketing and Promotion Professionals desiring a full-time position with a ministry.

Responsibilities: 

  • Arrange station presence at concerts and events. 
  • Assists in fundraising activities as required.

Administrative Assistant

The House FM is a listener-supported Christian radio network serving much of central and western Oklahoma and southern Kansas. Our ministry is seeking a full-time office assistant to support our team in our Ponca City, OK headquarters. This individual will perform a variety of vital tasks necessary to the operation of our radio networks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the office team in all forms of internal operations, organization, communications and team care.
  • Support the team in the execution of external initiatives – donor development, general fundraising, recruiting, community relations, etc.
  • Pickup and deliver mail, supplies, promotional materials, prizes, etc. as a representative of our brand.
  • Tasks include answering and routing phone calls, sorting, posting, and sending mail, responsible for Accounts Receivable, contract management, and various other administrative tasks. 
  • Maintaining accurate records of valuable company information both digitally and physically. 
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite, Google Docs, Quickbooks, general office equipment, business communications software such as Gmail, MS Outlook, and an ability to learn proprietary software.

Qualifications & Requirements:

General Maintenance

Our ministry is seeking a part-time general maintenance position to support our team in our Ponca City, OK headquarters. This individual will perform a variety of vital tasks necessary to the operation of our radio networks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the office team in all forms of internal operations, organization, communications and team care. Such as answering phones, running errands, picking up mail, etc. 
  • Interact with community leaders, business people, donors and audience members during public events. Such as going to concerts and events with the Promotions Team when needed. 
  • Pickup and deliver equipment, supplies, promotional materials, prizes, etc. as a representative of our brand.
  • Perform standard cleaning activities, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, stocking items, cleaning toilets, wiping down counters, and more. 
  • Performs minor fixture jobs, such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters,etc. 
  • Assist the engineering department when needed. 
  • Garden and yard upkeep may be required; it can include activities like collecting trash and mowing the lawn.
  • Report to the operations manager or office manager for issues.

Compensation for this position may include college credit, a stipend, and/or hourly pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the marketing team in all forms of marketing communication and outreach.
  • Setup and teardown promotional equipment at outreach events and concerts.

This individual will perform a variety of vital tasks necessary to our brand’s on-air product. Responsibilities:

  • Support our DJs and production team in preparation and execution of on-air duties.
  • Work with production software to produce audio, pre-recorded spots, etc.
  • Assist with live production of morning/afternoon shows, including call screening and other tasks.
  • Build on-air skill and experience as an assistant DJ.
