My husband has become hateful and rude to my 18 year old daughter who is a senior in high school. He adopted her when she was 4 years old and is the only Dad she has ever known. He used to be kind, and he did not treat our other children this way (my other older daughter who he also adopted nor his two older children). He professes to be a Christian but the fruit I see in him is NOT the fruit of the spirit. He is impatient, controlling, demanding, and unkind. He gaslights my daughter and me (acting like he is so reasonable and we are the ones who are not), but I consistently hear from others who observe him that they see what I see. I feel like I’m constantly defending him to others or making excuses for him to others, but I’m so tired of it and don’t even believe anymore that he is the kind man I once believed him to be. I want for us to both go to counseling but he won’t. He went once but won’t go back. I detest his behavior, and I see the emotional pain he is causing my daughter. The only thing he discusses with her is her chores. He shows her zero concern or care. Please pray that God will change his heart. I cannot take this much longer and desperately want him out of our lives if he won’t make any effort to be kinder (consistently, not just for a day or two here and there when he sees in near the end of my rope.) Please also pray that my daughter will see her value and worth through what God says is true about her, and that she will NOT come into agreement with the lies my husband speaks over her. Thank you.
J will be having throat surgery the 20th and J is making a career change is getting her master’s degree in teaching and the pressure is bad she wants to quit

Our daughter in law T. has Chiari’s malformation and has been having bad head pain and pressure. She’s in the er tonight with our son for severe vomiting and nausea. Pray that it’s nothing serious, will be resolved soon, and for her to have her mri’s done more quickly in order to have much needed surgery.
I have 5 boys, but only 2 that I birthed. We adopted 3 brothers from state custody, at the ages of 3,5, and 7… because of missing the bond that forms during infancy and toddler -hood, I am constantly getting annoyed by their behaviors; instead of encouraging, I find myself chastising. I want to love them deeper, but struggle with the “how”
