Community.

Community is one of the many pillars of The House ministry. That's why we are targeting an issue that strikes communities across the nation: homelessness.

At The House, we want everyone to have a place to call home. On top of that, many homeless individuals don't have access to food and water. With that in mind, we sought a way to make an impact on homelessness in a community that we serve and love.

We are excited to share that we have begun a new partnership with The Homeless Alliance based in Oklahoma City.  We believe in investing in our community and giving you the opportunity to help make it better as well.

During the Spring Fundraiser for every gift of $30 a month, or more, a donation will be made to provide a week’s worth of meals to one of our homeless friends and neighbors through the Homeless Alliance.

The Homeless Alliance owns and operates the Westtown Homeless Resource Campus which includes a Resource Center with offices for multiple nonprofit and government agencies, a housing complex, and a Day Shelter that serves an average of 350 people each day. The Day Shelter serves breakfast and lunch, provides showers, offers access to computers, phones, and mail, and provides access to needed services including mental and physical healthcare, budgeting assistance, legal support, and multiple classes and programs. For those people who can’t go to an overnight shelter because they have a companion animal from which they will not be parted, the Day Shelter removes that barrier by offering a kennel, complete with pet food and access to veterinary services, so that people with pets aren’t shut out of the system of care.

We are excited to partner with them and look forward to other outreach opportunities with them in the future.
