The Story: A Single Day That Changed the World While previous seasons have covered months or even years of Jesus' ministry, Season 6 will take a hyper-focused approach. Creator Dallas Jenkins has confirmed that the season will primarily portray the 24 hours of Good Friday.
The narrative will lead viewers through the trials, the "why" behind the sacrifice, and the extraordinary events of the passion, culminating in the crucifixion. Lead actor Jonathan Roumie has already noted that filming these episodes in Matera, Italy, was a deeply emotional and "indelible" experience that fans will likely find just as moving. Release Schedule and Where to Watch Thanks to a new partnership between 5&2 Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, the release strategy has shifted slightly to ensure the show reaches a global audience simultaneously.
