Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4 And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.”
Could you imagine if there were other ‘voices’ in a meeting weighing in with their opinion on how God was creating? (Side note: Have you ever said any of these phrases?)
It costs too much.
We don’t have the time.
It’s too radical a change.
We don’t have the authority.
I don’t like the idea.
I’m not saying you’re wrong but…
Now’s not the right time.
It isn’t in the budget.
We did alright without it before.
It’s never been tried.
Let’s put that one on the back burner for now.
Let’s form a committee.
It can’t be done.
It’s too much trouble to change.
We’ve always done it this way.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
It’s too much work.
We serve a God of creativity, don’t be the one in the room that brings down the vibe with negativity. Let people dream, let people explore, let people create.
